The Baths - Our second trip to England

The baths on the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.  This is one of the trips we have planned since we got here.  Saved it for our next to last weekend.

The baths has nothing to do with cleanliness, the refer to the huge granite boulders that dot the beach and provide natural tidal pools, arches, mazes and scenic grottoes that are open to the sea.

The Baths were "discovered" by Christopher Columbus, and Virgin Gorda was named by him.  It is now one of the most visited attractions in the British Virgin islands.

Everybody gets buggy eyed at the amazing unique look of the beach!  Or maybe this fellow's eyes are still bugging out from 1997 when Tyra Banks filmed a famous cover shot for the Sport's Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Our tour included time to swim in the clearest water I have ever seen... An amazing blue green color.

Here's Jackie...

And don't get too excited, but there were enough wet T-Shirts to get a contest starting...

The Baths are a "must do" if you get the chance to visit.  Everywhere you look, it's a different picture postcard.

Wind, Rain and Sunrise

Woke up over the weekend, worst weather yet...

Wind

Rain

Even whitecaps in our calm cove...

But the next day, a beautiful sun rise!

It all evens out!

A new angle on Red Hook and the Point

Here's a new angle on an old favorite... The town of Red Hook, and the point near the Ritz.  The yellow building in the front is the High School...

That's the same point a little higher up the hill (walking hills gets so much easier the more you do em... Just ask Becky).  In the background is St John, one of the "other" US Virgin isles.

Under the Sea - New Fish

Class was in Session, but it was getting a little rough... Here's an angle you don't see often.  Houses on our point, as seen from sea level about 200 yards from shore...

On a Clear Day you can See - St John

It's been a little hazy around here lately.  The winds were blowing dust from Africa, without any rain to wash it away, it settles on the first thing that breaks up the air patterns... The Caribbean Islands.

But for the last two mornings, we woke up to rain.  It clears off quickly, just enough to clean the air...

The shot above is pushing my camera to the max, but just beyond the boats in my bay, those are the houses on St John, about 10 miles from my deck...

This guy flew into our yard while I was taking the photos of St John.

A nice day

It's just a house I see when I walk somedays

Don't know anything about this house, I just like to look at it...

Look at the courtyard...

And, not the least... Here's the view from the house.

Does anyone know what the laws are about Squatters?

See the beautiful yellow house?  Up close, it is even more spectacular.

But this is about the house above... Well, the shell of a house anyway.

This shell is on my favorite route to walk.  I have been doing the walk for over a month, and no one is ever working on the place...

Nothing ever changes... What supplies that are there have not moved...

Someday, it's gonna be fabulous... BIG rooms, with wrap around deck, spectacular views...

In fact, I took this picture from what will be the Master Bedroom.

Sure, it needs a little work, but if no one else wants it, I'll take it.
